ABOUT

"For those who wander in the dark. Remember that the stars are yours too."
Dedication from
A Breath Too Late

Rocky here. I'm the author of A Breath Too Late and the founder of The HoldOn2Hope project. I grew up knowing that art had power. It could inspire, captivate, and provoke in profound ways. The creation and consumption of it is a deeply intimate experience. When I wrote my novel, it was intended as my love letter to anyone who has struggled with pain, mental health issues and suicidal ideation. But the writing of it also forced me to sit with my own story and experience. As I wrote, I realized that my mission lived beyond those pages and I wanted to create a collective where artists could be showcased bravely and vulnerably while offering messages of awareness, education, and hope. This project is growing, evolving into something beautiful. As an author (artist), former behavioral coach, and long-time political advocate devoted to breaking the silence and stigma around mental health, this is the culmination of a lifelong love-soaked fierce mission and I am honored that you are here for it.

"Dear lifE"
an artistic video collaboration with Zslate Productions

HoldOn2Hope's first artistic collaboration was in 2019 with Zslate Productions. Excerpts from Rocky Callen's novel A Breath Too Late  were captured in a series of videos in Zslate's own vision to create messages of hope. Here is one of them.
